The tech-world is competitive

Parents, if your teenager is interested in tech, then most likely they are planning to apply to a university with a top-level computer science department.

And while there are basic coding classes at most high schools (AP Computer Science), your teenager is probably more interested in video game development.

Our mentors (instructors) will take your teenager's passion for video gaming, and help them learn advanced coding skills and build a portfolio of games that will help them stand-out on university applications, and jumpstart their professional coding career.

We teach video game development with the Unity 3D game engine.

Never heard of Unity? Here are some of their top earning games:

Title: Among Us

Revenue: $86,000,000

Title: Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Revenue: ~ $120,000,000

Title: Pokemon Go

Revenue: ~ $4,340,000,000

Title: Genshin Impact

Revenue: ~ $2,000,000,000

About Hackingtons Game Dev Club:

Our mentorship (club) is for all-ability levels, and no previous coding experience is required. We do require that our students have a passion for video games, video game development, and a desire to ultimately work in the tech industry.

How it works::

Once-per-week, your teenager attends a (Zoom) check-in with their mentor and teammates.

Each student must "share" their progress each week. For beginners, students will follow our step-by-step curriculum, while more advanced students will be assigned projects based on their coding experience.

The weekly check-in is also a chance to showcase games made by students, and build friendships with your classmates.

During the week, students are expected to work towards the goal assigned by the mentor. For help, students can post questions on our message board, attend scheduled (Zoom) help sessions, or seek help in our Discord room.

What is the cost?

The first week is always a FREE trial.
If your teenager loves it, they can join for $120/month.

Meet the teachers

We have been teaching kids to code since 2014 in the Bay Area.
Unity Club was born out of a realization that our older students (teenagers) feel left-out: not old enough for University courses, but too old for typical youth programs.
Launching Hackingtons Unity Club is a dream come true for us, and we hope that your teenager enjoys it as much as we do.

What do we teach?

Hackingtons teaches game development with a focus on Unity 3D. Unity is a professional game engine that requires a solid foundation in the C# coding language.

Although our focus is on building games, the programming concepts taught are universal for whichever tech career path your teenager ultimately chooses.

Compared to other youth coding programs, our curriculcum is much more real-world focused: we want to help your teenager launch a career in coding/gaming.
